Decide Privacy Policy

Decide is designed to keep your focus information private. The apps you choose, your intentions, your schedules and your protection settings stay on your iPhone. DOURO VENTURES LTD (“we”), the company behind Decide, does not receive them through the app.

Outside the app, we receive personal information only when you choose to give it to us — for example when you write to support or apply through a form on our website — plus the ordinary technical information that any website visit involves (section 2). This policy explains the little we do receive, why we use it, and your rights.

1. What stays on your iPhone

Everything you set up in Decide — the areas you show, your intentions, the apps you chose for each area, your schedules and reminder choices, the protection or Mini Break in force, and your language — is stored on your iPhone and is never sent to us. Decide has no account, no login, no cloud sync, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Apple’s Screen Time technology does the protecting, on your device, under a permission you control in iPhone Settings. The apps you choose are stored in the encoded form Apple provides: Decide cannot read their names and never sends them anywhere. Reminders you turn on are delivered by iOS; a reminder shows only the area name, the time and a fixed sentence, and your connected devices may show it according to your system settings.

Purchases are made through Apple, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. On your iPhone, Decide asks Apple’s StoreKit which plan, if any, unlocks it and until when; that answer is used on your device and is not stored or sent to us. We do not receive your name, your Apple Account or any payment details through the app.

Settings → Reset Decide, or deleting the app, removes everything Decide stored; Decide’s files are excluded from iPhone and iCloud backups.

2. Information we actually receive

3. Why we use it

We use support correspondence to answer you, fix problems in Decide, handle complaints and refund-related questions, keep a record of what was agreed and protect our legal position. We use website request information to serve and protect the site, and we keep business and legal records where the law requires.

The law allows us to use personal information for three reasons: to help you when you ask (performing our contract with you, or taking steps you ask for); to run and protect Decide and our website and to establish, exercise or defend legal rights (our legitimate interests); and to meet our legal duties (compliance with a legal obligation). These are our legal bases under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. We do not rely on your consent for anything in this policy.

Your right to object. You can object at any time to any use of your information that is based on our legitimate interests, by writing to us.

4. Service providers, and where information is processed

We share personal information only with the service providers that host and protect our website and that provide our business email (large infrastructure providers based in the United States); with professional advisers, where needed to protect our legal position; and with public authorities, where the law requires. We will tell you which providers we use if you ask. Apple handles your purchases and your Screen Time permission itself, under Apple’s own privacy policy.

We are a UK company, and our providers may process information outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where the law requires extra protection for information sent abroad, our providers’ data-processing terms provide for the EU standard contractual clauses and the UK international data transfer addendum, and transfers to the United States may also rely on the UK’s adequacy arrangements for the United States. Contact us and we will tell you where to obtain copies of these safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you are, privacy laws such as the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you rights over your personal information: to know whether we hold it and get a copy; to have it corrected; to have it deleted, anonymised or blocked from use; to restrict or object to our use of it; to receive it in a portable form; and to be told whom we have shared it with. Not every right applies in every situation.

To use any of these rights, write to the address below; we reply to the address you wrote from, or ask you to confirm it. Your Decide configuration is only on your iPhone, so we cannot access, correct or delete it for you — Reset Decide, or deleting the app, does that.

If you are unhappy with how we handle personal information, you can write to us or complain to a data-protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), or the data-protection authority where you live.
